How to watch the Copa America on TV in the UK / US

Brazil meets Colombia on Wednesday in Rio de Janeiro when the two best teams in Group B meet to decide who wins the group.

The host nation currently leads the group, with Colombia close behind in second place, despite an overwhelming start to the tournament. Brazil started the Copa America with an expected 3-0 victory over Venezuela and continued this fine form when they defeated Peru 4-0 in Rio de Janeiro days later.

Colombia, on the other hand, have failed to impress and barely won their first match 1-0 against Ecuador, made 0-0 with Venezuela and then lost 2-1 to Peru in their last game.

Brazil will try to defend their tournament in 2019, while Colombia hopes to perform better than they have done in recent matches.

The last minute host nation is well on its way to defending its Copa America title in 2019. Brazil has an impressive depth and quality – both of which were shown in their impressive start to the tournament. Tite was able to rotate players sharply between the two opening matches and brought in Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson and Liverpool’s Fabinho for the match against Peru.

Neymar should remain in the team’s front line after registering two goals and an assist in the first two matches. Tite faces a completely healthy group to choose from.

Colombia’s head coach Reinaldo Rueda may seem to be shaking things up after the disappointing performance against Peru. Miguel Borja did manage to connect with it, as his team mates had hoped, and the ball went out. Atalanta strikers Luis Muriel and Duvan Zapata could play top instead.

Brazil: Ederson; Danilo, Militao, Marquinhos, Sandro; Richarlison, Fabinho, Casemiro, Everton; Neymar, Jesus.

Colombia: Ospina; Medina, Sanchez, Mina, Tesillo; Cuadrado, Barrios, Cuellar, Uribe, Diaz; Muriel.

The two countries last met in September 2019 for a friendly match that ended in a 2-2 draw. Before the friendly match, Colombia beat Brazil 1-0 in the Copa America 2015, where the controversial match saw Neymar and Carlos Bacca sent out in the last minutes.

Brazil has a solid historical record against Colombia in the Copa America, after winning three matches in a row without conceding 1991, 95 and 97 respectively.

Given Brazil’s results so far, they are likely to dominate against a struggling Colombia. The host country has an impressive record and depth on the bench that allows them to thrive at home. Brazil has an offensive power right now that Colombia may not be able to handle, given that their match against a mediocre Peru did not go according to plan either.

Prediction: Brazil 3-1 Colombia
