The 90mins Make Your Mark collection involves the center of what made soccer gamers the gamers they’re in the present day.
Whether it is a member of the family, a coach, a crew or a character trait, somebody or one thing has been notably key in a participant’s journey into skilled soccer.
Before the European Championship 2022, Norway and Arsenal’s midfielder Frida Maanum sat down with 90 minutes to talk about who or what has left probably the most influential mark on her profession.
“I would say my whole family. I grew up with my whole family; my brother, sister, mother and father, and my cousins and aunt and my uncle. My whole family plays football and I am the youngest in the family. Both my sister and my brother plays football and my mom is a really big football fan and watches football a lot so I think it all started there.
“My mom performed soccer too, however not at the highest degree; she is older so it was not that huge when she was youthful.
“Both my mom and dad have driven me thousands of miles to get to training, and they have been with me all the way.”
“When I was growing up, there were not really female players that I looked up to because it was not that big, and you did not watch women’s football on TV when I was younger. So for me, my mother was obviously a big role. Model but on the pitch I would say my sister.
“She’s a bit of older than me and I all the time watched her play and the way she performed, so I’d really inform her as a result of I didn’t have many function fashions at that age.”
“I’d say that the coach I had in Norway (with Lyn); his title is Glenn Kleven. He is a unbelievable coach and has actually helped me from once I was 14/15. And now that I’m residence on trip, he coaches me all the time and helps me develop as a participant.
“I think he was really good at seeing what details I needed to work on and obviously he is also a fantastic person who develops me not only as a player but as a person off the pitch. During the period when you are 15/16 you can really developed a lot, and he helped me in that case so he played a big role in my career. “
“In a development case, I would say Lyn where I played in Norway where I had Glenn as coach as well. We had a really good team there as well. But then I developed a lot in Linköping and being in Arsenal is just fantastic.”
“The first year in Linköping; how I developed as a player and person off the field; to learn to live by myself and handle that situation as well. It made the move to England much easier for me. It was clear that it was completely different to Sweden as well, but still I was more confident in myself and not so insecure when I moved to England (compared to how) I was when I moved to Sweden.
“For me it was actually troublesome (to maneuver to Linköping at 18). To transfer away from residence for the primary time – I had by no means cooked my very own dinner for instance, and simply to maneuver myself, (you) have no idea anybody. It was actually troublesome for me however I feel I developed lots the primary yr and realized lots from that half. But it was clearly actually troublesome. “
“It will likely be an thrilling European Championship I feel. It means lots, clearly it is a unbelievable event, a big event. I’ve been to a European Championship earlier than in 2017 – we solely got here to the group stage however I feel this group has a a whole lot of high quality that can assist us do good.
“It’s fun because I’ve played almost 50 games for the national team but I still feel young. I still feel I do not have the experience even though I probably have because I’ve been to two big tournaments and played almost 50 games for the national team. , but I still feel like I’m the kid trying to learn something.
“It’s my birthday the day after the final group recreation, so I actually hope we make it! Going on to the quarterfinals could be my greatest want.”
