Dortmund Coach Terzic Laments Euro 2024 Snub’s Impact on Hummels

Mats Hummels’ exclusion from Germany’s Euro 2024 squad disappointed him, as revealed by Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic. The 35-year-old defender, a key figure in Germany’s 2014 World Cup triumph, will now focus on Dortmund’s Champions League final against Real Madrid on June 1.

Terzic expressed his belief that Hummels will channel his disappointment into giving his all for Dortmund in the upcoming final. Despite feeling that Hummels deserved a spot in the Euro squad, Terzic acknowledged that the decision was beyond their control.

Only Nico Schlotterbeck and Niclas Fullkrug from Dortmund made it to Nagelsmann’s squad for the tournament starting on June 14. Terzic mentioned that while they successfully supported Schlotterbeck and Fullkrug in achieving their goals, unfortunately, the same could not be said for Hummels.

Terzic emphasized that Hummels will handle the situation with professionalism and continue to be a crucial player for Dortmund in the Champions League final.
