Citizens will unveil Kompany & Silva statues

Manchester City are ready to honor the club’s legends David Silva and Vincent Kompany by unveiling statues of the influential couple outside the Etihad Stadium before meeting Arsenal.

The duo played a huge role in the citizens’ growth to become one of the most powerful and successful teams in Europe and offered a total of 21 years of their careers to the goal. They were both key figures in Man City’s first title-winning page and are remembered with joy as modern legends.

In an effort to honor their heroes for their efforts over the past decade, Man City decided to create a lasting tribute to Silva and Kompany outside the Etihad Stadium, and these statues are ready to be unveiled.

According to The Mirror, citizens will unveil the two statues ahead of Arsenal’s visit to Manchester on Saturday, where the artwork will be placed outside the East Stand.

A third statue of Man City’s all-time top scorer Sergio Aguero has also been commissioned, after the Argentine left the Premier League champions when his contract expired this summer. The 33-year-old scored 260 goals for the Giants during his ten years at the club and wrote his name in the club’s and Premier League record books.

The trio were the founders of this new era in Man City’s history and bought the project during the first years. After winning the FA Cup in 2011, the citizens have continued to dominate English football, winning five league titles in ten years and an incredible ten domestic cup trophies.

The only silver find missing in the trophy cabinet is the Champions League, which they came in a whisker to win last season, before finally losing the final to Chelsea. But former captain Kompany and creative genius Silva helped put Man City on this path to glory, and they will be honored in the most permanent form.
