Chelsea broadcasts news: Giroud joins AC Milan

AC Milan have completed the French striker Olivier Giroud from Chelsea.

The 34-year-old striker fought for minutes under both Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel but had a habit of appearing with important goals in his rare outings, including six strikes in eight Champions League matches – of which only two were starts.

With his playing time limited, Giroud was made available for transfer this summer and spent Friday in Milan completing a move to Rossoneri that is expected to earn Chelsea up to £ 2 million.

To all the Blues, to my teammates, to all my coaches, to the whole club, a big thank you for these special moments ??

I start a new journey with a light and happy heart. Our victories in the Fa Cup, Europa League and Champions League have been fantastic. ?

Giroud sent a message to Chelsea fans on social media when he switched Stamford Bridge to the San Siro.

“To all the Blues, to my teammates, to all my coaches, to the whole club, a big thank you for these special moments,” he wrote.

“I am starting a new journey with a light and happy heart. Our victories in the FA Cup, Europa League and Champions League have been fantastic.

“Love, Oli G.”

Giroud will be the second Chelsea player to join Milan this summer, after midfielder Fikayo Tomori, who was given a permanent place after an excellent loan spell at the San Siro last season.

There may be further deals between the two clubs, as Milan are also perceived to be keen on midfielders Tiemoue Bakayoko and Hakim Ziyech, both of whom have been made available for transfer this summer.

As 90min first revealed, Chelsea are preparing for a monster bid for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, and the Blues are now trying to trim their group and raise the 150 million pounds needed to get a deal.

With Chelsea looking for a new striker, Giroud can also be followed out of the front door by Tammy Abraham, who is valued at 40 million pounds and has aroused interest from Arsenal, Aston Villa and West Ham.
