Bruno Fernandes back in training

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has returned to training before the pre-season 2021/22 season after his summer break, but the Portuguese superstar will not be present when United face Brentford in a friendly on Wednesday.

Fernandes only reached the last 16 of Euro 2020 with his country and has had four weeks off since then to rest and recover. The 26-year-old played 58 club matches in all competitions last season and scored 28 goals during the process and earned every second of his break.

Fernandes reported for training on Tuesday, after previously publishing on social media that he has “fully charged batteries” in time for the new season.

While the squad’s talisman will not play against Brentford with just a training session under his belt, it is still possible that he can play against Preston on July 31, and certainly when United face Everton at Old Trafford in their last summer friendly. on 7 August.

Dean Henderson is also back in training but, like Fernandes, is not playing against Brentford either.

However, there may be chances to play for Donny van de Beek, who is determined to prove himself and fight for his place, Scott McTominay and Diogo Dalot.

“Of course we are adding more and more players now,” United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjär told the club’s own media channels.

“Dean is back in training, which is good for us, he is not ready for the Brentford game. Diogo and Donny have trained and they are ready to play a role in the game, I would think they will be sub. Bruno is back in training. He’s not ready to join the Brentford game yet, but he’s not that far off. ”

Paul Pogba is expected to resume training next week, while United are also waiting for the return of their England compatriots, who were involved in the Euro 2020 final less than three weeks ago – Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw and now also new signing Jadon Sancho .

Raphael Varane signed for Real Madrid at the weekend, but his proposed transfer to United is believed to be very close after the two clubs agreed on a fee of only 35 million pounds. The Frenchman has been tipped to undergo medical treatment already on Wednesday.
