Bournemouth agree a deal for Middlesbrough’s Marcus Tavernier

Bournemouth have agreed a £15m deal to signal Middlesbrough midfielder Marcus Tavernier, 90min understands.

Tavernier has emerged because the Cherries’ prime goal this summer season, and the 23-year-old is now set to hyperlink up with Scott Parker’s facet.

Both Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest beforehand had bids turned down, as 90min revealed earlier this month. However, Boro’ had been adamant they parted methods with their star man after the Cherries submitted an improved supply.

90min can verify that Bournemouth have agreed to pay £12m plus £3m in add-ons for the previous England Under-20 midfielder and Tavernier is now touring all the way down to the south coast for a medical on Thursday.

He will develop into the membership’s third signing of the summer season, following the arrivals of Ryan Fredericks and Joe Rothwell on free transfers.

Boro, in the meantime, hope to announce the signing of Brentford’s Marcus Forss forward of their Championship opener towards West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
