Isabel dos Santos accuses the CEO of

Accused of embezzlement of public funds and corruption, indicted in several courts around the world, Isabel Dos Santos, considered before 2017 as the richest woman in Africa, counterattack. She filed a lawsuit in a London court against Angolan President João Lourenço, accusing him of “conspiracy” aimed specifically at “his property”.

Isabel Dos Santos has made great efforts to bring to justice the presumed evidence of what she claims. She actually called the services of a private intelligence company, Black Cube. The latter, founded by former Mossad agents, the Israeli intelligence service, had reportedly registered several leading Angolan officials, including Carlos Saturnino, the president without the national oil company, Sonangol. But also relatives of an influential adviser to President Lourenço, Manuel Vicente.

According to Isabel Dos Santos, these recordings would prove that there is a group within the Angolan government whose goal would be to “think and coordinate a campaign to seize assets” against her. She specifically mentions the pressure on justice and also confirms it Luanda is delicious, these leaks in the press that revealed the alleged embezzlement of the Dos Santos clan, were in fact an “attack by the Angolan intelligence services”.

Asset freezing

At the heart of this battle is the particular control over Isabel Dos Santos’ participation in the capital of Unitel, the large private telephone company. The freezing of Angolan justice by the assets of Isabel Dos Santos, then Portuguese, was a serious blow to her. Luanda claims that whoever was the richest woman in Africa could only build her empire by pulling on the treasury.
