In a brief statement read to the press early in the morning, the interior minister made it clear that those who demonstrated on April 6 wanted to remove Patrice Talon from power and install a transitional government.

According to him, terrorist acts were planned in Cotonou, Porto-Novo, Abomey-Calavi and Parakou. He explains that the barricades that were erected to block the two axes that connect south to north were intended to cut the country in two. Some sponsors are arrested, others on the run. They are accused of having recruited mercenaries, youths and hunters whom they armed with shotguns and weapons of war.
