Senegalese opposition figures banned from running in legislative elections

Opposition MPs, including Déthié Fall of the Yewwi Askan Wi coalition, were barred from standing in Sunday’s election, which could be a major test of the ruling party’s power. Fall was briefly detained in June in what he and some analysts see as a worrying sign for democracy in Senegal. Report Sam Bradpiece, Sarah Sakho and Elimane Ndao of FRANCE 24 from Dakar.
