Turkish FM Cavusoglu meets with owner of targeted Somalia business

ANKARA – Turkey’s top diplomat met with the owner of the Turkish company targeted by a recent terrorist attack in Somalia on Tuesday.

Mevlut Cavusoglu hosted Hidayet Zorlu, owner of Turkish company En-Ez, for a meeting at the Turkish Foreign Ministry in the capital Ankara.

Zorlu spoke with Cavusoglu and Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Yavuz Selim Kiran about Saturday’s attack and the current situation.

He said there have been several attacks on Turkish companies and workers in Somalia over the past two years.

Cavusoglu offered his condolences for the loss of life and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Two Turkish nationals, Selami Aydogdu and Erdinc Genc, ​​were among the five people killed in the bombing near Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu.

At least 14 other people, including three Turkish nationals, were injured in the attack.
