TPLF Denies Involvement in Sudanese Conflict: Setting the Record Straight

ADDIS ABABA – The TPLF refutes any involvement in the conflict in Sudan, where the RSF battles the Sudanese army for control.

The Tigray Interim Administration dismisses the accusations as unfounded, stating they have never taken part in the Sudanese civil war.

They believe the claims are an attempt to gain international support and internationalize the tragic conflict, labeling the RSF’s allegations as pure imagination.

The RSF, formerly allied with the Sudanese army, claims to have evidence linking the TPLF to the SAF and accuses foreign entities of aiding the Sudanese army.

The conflict in Sudan escalated on April 15, 2023, between the SAF and the RSF, with both sides accusing foreign involvement in exacerbating the situation.

General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan accused the UAE of supporting the RSF and facilitating the transfer of supplies, leading to a political turmoil since the ouster of Omar al-Bashir.

The TPLF led by Getachew Reda asserts that they have no intention to meddle in the conflict and recognize Sudan as a safe haven for Tigrayans.
