Three Kenyan cops killed in assault close to Somali border

Mogadishu – At least three Kenyan cops had been injured on Monday after al Shabaab fighters attacked a safety camp within the border area of Mandera.

Northeast Regional Police Chief George Seda stated on Tuesday that the officers had been killed on the El-Ram Anti-Stock Theft Unit camp round 2 a.m. within the Kutulo space.

He added that the officers repulsed the attackers, who reportedly fled in the direction of the Kenya-Somalia border.

Al Shabaab didn’t touch upon the assault.

Kenyan police have elevated safety within the nation forward of common elections scheduled for August 9.

The August ballot is ready to be hotly contested between main political alliances – Kenya Kwanza, led by Deputy President William Ruto, and Azimio la Umoja, led by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
