Somalia: Launch of the Gara’ad, Galkayo and Galdogob highway challenge

AXADLE, Northeastern State – The Deputy Director General of the Northeastern State Highway Authority (PHA), Mr. Abdirizak Mohamed Hayir, along with the Minister of Public Works, Transport and Housing of Northeastern State, Ahmed Bashir Iro, at present inaugurated a highway hyperlink between the port of Gara’ad and the cities of Galkayo and Galdogob.

This research will type the idea of the plans for the development of this triangular highway which is vital for the development challenge of the port of Gara’ad.

This work will collect as much as 10 international engineers, will final 30 days from the day of its launch and might be applied by the KAAD Research Institute.

“We are pleased to launch today this important project for Northeastern State, Somalia and the Horn of Africa in general,” Mr. Hayir stated.

“We have left this long and arduous journey and the work left to us to encourage the construction of this project and the plan that will be the starting point,” stated the Acting CEO and Deputy of the Northeastern State Highway Authority (PHA ).

He added that the Northeastern State Highway Authority will play a key function within the growth of the research and is able to assist the surveyors with any approach and tools they want.

“We look forward to contributing your knowledge, equipment and all the technical skills you will need during this project,” Hayir stated in a speech on the challenge launch.

The PHA has already performed a key function within the development of the Wadaagsin Road, which has been in service for over six years, with all Northeastern State of SomaliaRoads Authority tools and personnel, and is at present finishing up different main works at Galdogob district of Mudug area.
