Among those present, Limam Chafi found friends, former political exiles. One of the Aziz era, businessman and billionaire Mohamed Ould Bouamatou. He returned last month following a waiver of warrants in February, and he was also the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the regime of the former Mauritanian president. The other is former Army Commander Saleh Ould Hanena, who led a military uprising against former President Ould Taya in 2003.
For the latter, this return is synonymous with a new page for Mauritania: “We believe it is a new page that opens where all Mauritanians want their place. Among his very best sons, Limam Chafi, will occupy his place in Mauritania. Limam’s place is home. ”
