Freedom Airlines introduces Airbus to attach Mogadishu with worldwide locations

Mogadishu – Somali authorities officers attended the preliminary launch Friday of the Freedom Airline-owned Airbus 320-211 plane.

The airplane, which has a variety of over 6,000 km, made its first flight from Nairobi to Mogadishu. Freedom Airlines stated it plans to attach Mogadishu with a number of worldwide locations – together with South Africa and Egypt – by direct flight.

The Director General of the Somali Civil Aviation Authority, Ahmed Moalim Hassan, congratulated Freedom Airlines on selling Somali aviation and welcomed the plans to launch new routes to African and Arab nations.

Freedom Airlines supervisor Mukhtar Hamud stated he felt his firm accomplished a major feat with the primary flight of Airbus 320-211.

“The pilots on the plane are Somalis licensed by the Somali government. Somali passengers will feel happy when they see Somali pilots speak to them in their language,” he stated.

A delegation led by Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud traveled by first airplane from Mogadishu to Nairobi.
