MPS reflects on its future during and after

The patriotic salvation movement, the party of late President Idriss Déby, is beginning to reflect on its future during and after the political transition. By a decision signed a few days ago, the Secretary General of the former governing party set up a committee for future purposes on the future of education.

as reported from Ndjamena, Madjiasra Nako

The patriotic movement has begun to think about the future since the end of Marshal Idriss Déby Itno’s funeral, assures a leading party official. In addition to a commission associated with allied parties, which is preparing to meet with militants in the provinces, another is set up to “draw up a roadmap for the march of the patriotic salvation movement during and after the transition”.

According to several analysts, the former ruling party is struggling to cope with the military’s behavior. MPS, whose representation was reduced in the government formed in early May, no longer hesitates to attack, directly or via satellite parties, the government’s election and the Military Transitional Council.

This attitude can be explained by the choice of the Transitional Military Council to work with all political tendencies. The same analysts add that the late president’s party must learn to stop being a state party and become a party of activists. Something that will not be easy.
