Denis Sassou Nguesso officially invested

Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso, 77, was officially invested on Friday, January 8, 2021 as a candidate in the March 2021 presidential election by his political formation, the Congolese Labor Party (PCT), which says it is working for its victory.

This investment is the culmination of the first extraordinary session of the PCT Central Committee. A member of this Central Committee, Esther Ayissou Gayama, was responsible for reading the statement on this investment: “The Central Committee unanimously approves the National Investment Committee’s investment of Comrade Denis Sassou Nguesso as a candidate. From the Congolese Labor Party to our country’s Supreme Court judge,” she said.

Candidate for “peace”

The PCT asked its leader to apply and assured him of his moral, material and financial support. Secretary General of this formation, who has accumulated 46 years in power, Pierre Moussa, explained why the choice was once again made on Denis Sassou Nguesso: “Comrade Denis Sassou Nguesso embodies the hope of an entire people to live in a Congo always in peace; peace without which all our ambitions are in vain, ”he said.

The PCT candidate has, among others, opponents, Mathias Dzon, his former finance minister between 1997 and 2002 or Guy-Brice Parfait Kolélas, who came second in the 2016 presidential election.
