#Kenya: Raila Odinga urges supporters to refrain from sex to ensure victory

For his last attempt at the supreme magistracy of his country, opponent Raila Odinga wants to put all chances on his side. He asked at a meeting his supporters who are married not to “have sex” on the eve of the vote, to guarantee his victory.

“August 8 will be a historic day and no vote will be left out. Men will sleep outside. On this day, no man should have sex with a woman, “said opponent Raila Odinga in front of thousands of jubilation fans.

“If he approaches you, do not look at him, tell him, we have a war to make … make love after winning the presidency. When you go to war, sex is a bad omen, “he added.

According to the Kenyan website “The Star”, the candidate asked his supporters ” the expeditious expedition ” of any activities that could prevent them from going to vote.

This presidential election opposes mainly the outgoing president Uhuru Kenyatta and the veteran of the Kenyan political scene Raila Odinga who beats his last cards to occupy the highest function of the country.

A total of 3.7 million voters are expected in the polling stations on 8 August. The country has seen quite dark moments (1,100 deaths) during the 2007 presidential election.
