Arsenal aims to complete Raya deal while Turner undergoes Forest medical
Arsenal’s backup goalkeeper, Matt Turner, is on the verge of joining Nottingham Forest, as he is expected to undergo a medical with the club today. This transfer allows Arsenal to pursue the signing of David Raya from Brentford, who will provide competition for their current first-choice goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale.
According to ‘The Athletic,’ Arsenal has reached an agreement to sell Matt Turner to Nottingham Forest. The American international will complete his medical assessment with the Midlands club on Monday.

Matt Turner’s departure creates an opportunity for Arsenal to acquire David Raya, the starting goalkeeper for Brentford. The Gunners have shown interest in the Spanish international, as he would compete with Aaron Ramsdale for the starting position.
Having spent the last four seasons with Brentford and entering the final year of his contract, David Raya has expressed his desire to win trophies. Recognizing his ambition, Brentford has come to terms with his probable departure.
Although Brentford values David Raya highly, Arsenal’s initial bid of £23 million was rejected by the West London club, who have set a valuation of £40 million. Nevertheless, negotiations between the two sides have continued, and both parties are optimistic about reaching a mutually agreeable deal. Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano suggests that the deal could be finalized very soon.
