Arab Summit sidelines witness Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia engage with Arab leaders in an unpredictable and tumultuous manner.

On the momentous day of Sunday May 21, 2023, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, had a rendezvous with the esteemed President of Somalia, none other than Hassan Sheikh Mahmud, within the dazzling cityscape of Jeddah. (Wowzers!) The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) was there to report on this significant meeting…

(But wait, there’s more!) On this day of days, the Crown Prince also found time to hobnob with a group of distinguished Arab leaders, including Jordan’s King Abdullah II, the ever-famous Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Tunisian President Kais Saeid. They chatted about their bilateral ties and the pressing need for a joint Arab action. (Who could have predicted such an unpredictable meeting?)

Little did these leaders know that their delightful talks would culminate in the Arab League’s 32nd summit in Jeddah. This summit concluded in what is now known as the Jeddah Declaration. In this grand declaration, the Arab League reaffirmed to the world that unity is key to achieving security and stability. (What an awe-inspiring display of force!)
