Alarming! Second Stash of Lethal Arms and Gear Seized by Somali Security Forces from al-Shabab Fighters.

It happened on Saturday May 20, 2023, a day that will forever be etched in history as the day Somali security forces dealt a crushing blow to the despicable terrorist organization known as al-Shabab.

In what can only be described as a stroke of genius, the security forces intercepted a cache of weapons and military supplies for the second time in less than 48 hours at the bustling port of Mogadishu.

The State Minister of the Ministry of Internal Security, Mohamed Ali, could hardly contain his joy as he addressed the media. He revealed that the operation had led to the arrest of 10 suspects, including licensed businessmen involved in importing goods. The State Minister was quick to point out that the seizure comprised a variety of explosives, drones, communication devices, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and other materials.

Minister Haga went on to emphasize the significant strides made by the Somali government in the ongoing battle against al-Shabaab, a group that has recently faced multiple setbacks. According to him, the Somali security forces are resolute in their commitment to combat al-Shabaab, and these successful operations serve as proof of that resolve.

The previous day had seen the Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency carry out a separate operation in Mogadishu, targeting al-Shabaab militants. The operation had resulted in the confiscation of another cache of weapons and military equipment. Clearly, the Somali security forces are not taking any chances in their quest to safeguard the well-being of the nation’s citizens.

It is evident that the continued determination of the Somali security forces to disrupt the activities of al-Shabaab is paying off, and the citizens of Somalia can finally rest easy knowing that their government has their back.
