Africa: Elimination of CAN 2023 – Ghana, Angola, and Tanzania Secure Qualification, Thursday’s Results.
The final day of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers continued on Thursday with five matches, most of which were decisive. Ghana, Angola, and Tanzania are the newly qualified teams.
Ghana and Angola qualify in Group E:
Ghana will compete in the AFCON next year in Côte d’Ivoire after their 2-1 victory over the Central African Republic on Thursday.
This also guarantees direct qualification for Angola, although they had already secured their fate. They held Madagascar to a goalless draw at home.
Tanzania qualifies in the nick of time:
The Taifa Stars only needed a draw to qualify for the 2023 AFCON and they achieved it against Algeria away from home.
The draw for Tanzania means that Uganda is eliminated despite their 2-0 victory over Niger.
Tunisia finishes on an admirable note:
Tunisia thrashes Botswana (3-0) in a match with no real stakes. The Carthage Eagles were already qualified, while Botswana was eliminated from the race in advance.
