Fiorentina ready to keep Dusan Vlahovic

Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso has made it clear that he is not interested in selling star striker Dusan Vlahovic this summer.

The 21-year-old has been in ridiculous form in 2021. Since the turn of the year, Vlahovic has scored 17 goals in just 24 games, and he kicked off his current campaign with a double in the cup victory over Crozone earlier this month.

That form has, of course, caught the eye of Europe’s elite, with Atletico Madrid, Inter, Manchester City and Tottenham all keen to land the Serb’s signature, but Fiorentina have always been reluctant to sell.

With the window slowly winding, Fabrizio Romano states that I Viola’s attitude is “completely clear”. Commisso is not at all interested in downloading Vlahovic and he has already rejected offers from Atletico to prove his point.

Atletico, who had been the leading suitors in the Vlahovic race, have turned their attention to Hertha Berlin’s Matheus Cunha, which means that the 21-year-old is unlikely to get anywhere.

With that said, earlier this week, Commisso left the door open for a potential departure for Vlahovic, but only if potential suitors put stupid money on the table.

“About Vlahovic? If we are talking about 100 million euros or so, I will think carefully, he says to ANSA (via Calciomercato). “It is pointless to hide it because it is right to repeat, especially for the Florentines, that the pandemic has caused significant financial damage to clubs and therefore also to Fiorentina.

“So in the face of certain figures, you can not just turn your back immediately just for your sake or to be brave.”

That kind of money is unlikely to come between now and the end of the window. City have funds but focus on Harry Kane, whose sale would give that kind of money to Spurs, but that deal looks increasingly unlikely with each passing day.

Vlahovic seems to stay at Fiorentina for at least another year, then he could end up in the middle of a transfer match. He has only two years left on his contract and may be available for a bargain price if he lets the deal go out.
