Rate MLS players in Euro 2020

The 2020 European Championship has ended its first round of group matches since the start on June 11 across the continent. The set of 12 fixtures provided a huge amount of quality from unexpected nations. Among the actions, the Netherlands barely beat Ukraine in a shocking 3-2 victory, while an own goal by Mats Hummels gave France 1-0.

Six Major League footballers were called up to represent their country in one of Europe’s most prestigious tournaments. While a couple of players watched from the sidelines, Minnesota United’s duo Jukka Raitala and Robin Lod made European history with Finland.

Here are the ratings for each MLS player participating in Euro 2020 …

Przemyslaw Frankowski (Chicago Fire) – 6/10 – Chicago Fire midfielder came on the field for the last 16 minutes of the match when Poland beat Slovakia 2-1.

A red card in the 62nd minute forced Poland to continue with only ten men, which made the comeback even more difficult. Frankowski managed to find space pockets and create chances, but Poland simply failed to find the equalizer.

Szabolcs Schon (FC Dallas) – 7 / 10- The young FC Dallas striker entered the match in the 77th minute in the hope of making an impact. Shortly after inserting, Schon created a fantastic opportunity by running through the right before hitting the ball towards goal. In just 24 minutes, Schon intensified the attack and fought an admirable battle to match clear favorites Portugal. Daniel Gazdag (Philadelphia Union) – Although he was on Hungary’s Euro 2020 list, the Philadelphia Union player did not make the squad for the match against Portugal.

Robin Lod (Minnesota United) – 7/10 – Minnesota United’s midfielder was presented in Finland’s first ever European Championship victory. Robin Lod kept the midfield stable and secure to enable Joel Pohjanpalo to score the only goal in Finland’s 1-0 victory over Denmark. Lod started the match with an offensive role, but over time the player adapted to a defensive role to ensure that his side was winning.

Jukka Raitala (Minnesota United) – 8/10 – Minnesota United’s signing of the season was also wonderful in Finland’s victory. Raitala defended well in the match and completed four clearances and three cross blocks in addition to 10 defensive stops. He successfully prevented Denmark from attacking on the left and left small options for his opponents.

Lassi Lappalainen (CF Montreal) – The CF Montreal player looked from the side when Finland defeated Denmark 1-0.
