Djibouti is a major player in East Africa. The country of less than a million people relies on its strategic position on the Gulf of Aden to develop. It is home to military bases from the US, France, Italy, Japan and China.

By focusing on the development of its port activity, Djibouti wants to become a commercial and telecommunications hub for the whole of East Africa.
